Description

FACTS. Cooperative Impact Lab (CIL) is launching FACTS (Finance and ACcounting Transformation Services) February 1, 2022. FACTS will provide launch and growing nonprofits with finance and operations services that reduce operating costs, save employee and employer time, and support sustainability and growth -- all at a price they can afford.

Services. CIL is seeking a Senior Robotics Automation Engineer to serve as a Founding Partner of FACTS executive leadership team to operationalize and manage FACTS’ finance and accounting services and internal operating processes and procedures, including:

  • Work with CIL’s nonprofit CPA to process mine finance and accounting close processes, financial statement preparation, cash flow management, and forecasting support for hundreds of launch and growing nonprofits.
  • Hire and manage robotic process automation vendors and develop (yourself) robots to automate a majority of the policies and procedures within Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Nexonia, Martus and other systems (the budget for outsourced vendors is $30,000-$50,000);
  • Develop and implement hiring and management protocols for technologists, engineers, or firms in order to launch FACTS on February 1, 2022; and
  • Participate in the development and delivery of funding pitches to prospective funders.

Values. CIL is seeking a Senior Robotics Automation Engineer that is aligned with these outcomes for launch and growing nonprofits:

  • Pay no more than $500 per month for best-in-class finance and operation systems and services;
  • Be able to offboard time consuming finance and operation responsibilities with confidence to a streamlined and automated set of systems and processes;
  • Have accurate and real-time financial reporting and expert forecasting support to make informed decisions that scale and grow their impact; and
  • Have less stress and sleepless nights of worry about cash management, compliance, and reporting to funders.

Expertise. CIL is seeking a Senior Robotics Automation Engineer that is an expert in computer-aided drafting and design and building robots (implementing robotic process automation). The Senior Robotics Automation Engineer may benefit from having an understanding of how Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Nexonia, and Martus operate and function.

Compensation. This engagement begins immediately and ends March 31, 2022. This is an independent contractor position. Compensation for this engagement is set at $15,000 per month and the total amount of the contract will not exceed $75,000. The Senior Robotics Automation Engineer must be physically located, and authorized to work, in the United States.

Submission. Proposals should be written in English and submitted electronically through the RFP Submission portal by Friday, November 12, 2021. Proposals will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Expertise: Experience which demonstrates computer-aided drafting and design and building robots expertise and familiarity with nonprofit accounting, audit, and tax.
  • Tool Implementation Certification / Experience: An understanding of Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Nexonia, and Martus may be helpful, however such experience is not required.
  • Why you should be FACTS’ Founding Partner: Clearly expresses why being the Founding Partner of FACTS robotics process automation will produce the outcomes prescribed under the sections Services and Values.
  • Equity and Inclusion: Clearly defines how you will be equitable and inclusive as FACTS’ Senior Robotic Automation Engineer.

CIL believes how an organization spends its funds is a direct reflection of the values of the organization. CIL is committed to investing its financial resources with Black, Brown, Indigenous, LGBTQ, women and service-disabled veterans businesses and business owners.

Questions. Please reach out to Josh Wolf (FACTS senior program manager) with any questions: josh.wolf@cooperativeimpactlab.org.

Additional Information. We hope this information is helpful as you decide whether to submit a proposal to provide these services.

  • FACTS has raised over $500,000 for this project and is working to raise another $500,000 by the end of this year (December 31, 2021). As a Founding Partner of FACTS, you’ll have the financial resources needed to develop and meet our shared vision and mission.
  • FACTS will be a c-corporation that is owned by a tax-exempt nonprofit (Cooperative Impact Lab). FACTS will always place the values and mission of the work at the forefront of decision making, since making a profit is not the goal.
  • FACTS is determined to use robotic process automation to increase the accuracy and efficiency of every policy and procedures -- eliminating mundane tasks, engaging the project team in higher level and more impactful work, and scaling services to more and more launch and growing nonprofits.
  • FACTS believes that work and life should be balanced and is focused on developing a workplace where any contractor or eventually any employee spends 50% of their week working and 50% of their week doing whatever the heck they want. We’re not there yet -- but it’s a goal of ours and one we hope you’ll help us to meet.
  • FACTS Design. This is the outline of the basic design of FACTS that we’re looking to you to help us to design and build.
